What a week!

This past week has been wonderful, yet extremely busy! All of us Kohawks are working hard and preparing for our midterms before Spring Break. Spring Break starts this Friday! I am so glad to say that I will be in Cookeville, Tennessee with 9 other students and one staff adviser working on a Habitat for Humanity house build! I am very excited for the experience, and I know it will be a fun trip.  I will certainly blog about my trip :)

This semester I am taking Color (painting course), Organizational Psychology, Bio-psychology, and Printmaking I. I enjoy all of my classes, and I am learning a lot of compelling information in all of these classes. This past week there was a guest speaker, Mindy Moye, who talked about her role at John Deere. She explained her role as an Organizational psychologist for this organization and how that impacts employee engagement! She also creates the satisfaction survey for all of the employees of John Deere. In Printmaking, I was also able to watch a screen printing demonstration by two artists from the Ceramics Center. I found out that artists can actually screen print on their pottery.

I am proud to say that this year I joined Residence Life. I am a Resident Assistant on a  co-ed First year floor, and I absolutely adore my job. All of my residents are fantastic! They are starting to get really busy with midterms, so I will be baking cookies this week for them. Next year I will be an Assistant Resident Director in the Apartments area, and I am looking forward to that experience. But for time being, I am just trying to make the most out of the time I have with my residents now. The girl's will be having a make-up party soon, and we will also be going to the bowling alley!

One of my fantastic residents is one of our very own bloggers, Alexis Lichty! She is wonderful and a hard worker. Last weekend I went to go support her at the Tri Delta Dessert Gala.  This event was very successful and all of the proceeds go to St. Jude. I enjoyed indulging in cupcakes with friends, and learning about the philanthropy of the Deltas! Great job ladies, keep up the great work!

Despite the long week of critiques, meetings, and Spring Break fever. One of my great friends, Taylor Danielson and I had a fun night out! Taylor is a Sophomore as well majoring in Sociology and Spanish. She is in Student Activities Committee, Coe Alliance, and she is on the Coe Dance Team. She does so many great things for campus and I am so glad I met her at Coe. Friday night we went to Fazzoli's for some lasagna, then we went to the mall to try on some clothes from the new Spring collections and get our nails done, and then we went to Orange Leaf to eat frozen yogurt! After that we went to the free midnight movie, that is sponsored by Coe's Student Activities Committee, Identity Thief! This was truly, a girl's night, and I am so glad that we decided to relax a little bit.

I will be sharing more posts with all of you soon about why I choose Coe, what I am involved, why I chose my majors, and why I love being a Kohawk!

Have a Super Sunday!

Welcome :)

Hello All!

My name is Nina Johnson and I am a Sophomore here at Coe College. I am double majoring in Studio Art and Psychology. I am from Homewood, Illinois, but I can truly call Coe my second home.  I am sad to say that my Sophomore year is already soaring by, but I am glad I will get to keep track of my memories here. I absolutely love Coe for it's strong sense of community, academics, and leadership opportunities. I look forward to sharing my week with you soon :)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Nina
